A semi-helpful collection of TBE terms, bar-world phrases, questionable definitions, and official explanations for things that probably should not need explaining.
The Glossary is where The Bar Examiner explains its own evidence labels, site language, bar terms, and recurring jokes before they become legally confusing.
Some entries are useful. Some are stupid. The best ones are both.
If TBE says something weird, official-sounding, or suspiciously dramatic, there is a decent chance it gets filed here.
TBE-speak for a bar, rating, listing, or detail that does not have enough evidence yet. Nobody has been convicted of greatness. Yet.
A detail, listing, or claim that has been checked enough to stop looking suspicious. Still, bars change. Always examine fresh evidence.
Usually means information came from the bar, an approved owner/representative, or another source TBE trusts more than a napkin rumor.
A magical time window where prices, snacks, and optimism may improve. TBE believes every hour has potential, but check the listing before relying on specials.
A listing connected to a bar owner or approved representative. Claimed does not mean perfect; it means someone official can help keep the evidence current.
A registered TBE user. Possibly helpful. Possibly opinionated. Hopefully not the reason we need new community rules.
A future status for users who consistently submit useful evidence without setting fire to the docket. Not fully rolled out yet.
The rumored place missing pages, lost rewards, broken links, and suspicious merchandise go when nobody wants to explain what happened.
This page is a placeholder for now, but it will eventually include more TBE definitions, bar terms, feature explanations, site labels, and absurd disclaimers nobody asked for but everyone deserves.
Sports bar, dive bar, tiki bar, neighborhood bar, cocktail bar, and other identity crises.
Pool tables, darts, karaoke, trivia, patios, live music, and other evidence of possible good decisions.
The honest way to say TBE does not know yet, instead of pretending every field descended from Mount Data.
These definitions may evolve as TBE grows, users submit better evidence, and Mr. Ex remembers where he put the official stamp.
